The ultimate goal for the entire Sade Tribute EP for both the producer, Stylolive and the singer, MXKA was to embody a modern day Sade aesthetic in how they chose, recorded, performed and visualized all aspects of their homage to her.

So as to be completely faithful to the Sade aesthetic, they chose a more intimate record for this third track, “By Your Side”, with simple production, in contrast to the experimentation with other genres as they did in the creation of the “No Ordinary Love” (drum and bass) and “Sweetest Taboo” (amapiano).

The choice of “By Your Side'' proved to be the perfect vehicle for showcasing MXKA’s versatility and stirring vocal performance.
